The band’s performance is part of the College’s “Hot Nights, Cool Music” summer concert series. The show is free and open to the public. The performance begins at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
The Johnson City Community Concert Band is an all-volunteer, non-profit, concert band whose members are from all over the region. The band is made up of approximately 60 members and associate members who have a diverse background in music, from professional band directors to no- music professionals of all ages that just want to continue the joy of playing music and performing. The band also features several associate members who taken up playing challenging music.

Historic Jonesborough Bluegrass Series' 2013 continues
The Historic Jonesborough Bluegrass Series’ 2013 season will continue on Saturday with performances by Leroy Troy, Jerry Butler & the Blu-Js and Mountain Drive. Doors open at 6 p.m. and shows start at 7 p.m. All shows are held at the Historic Jonesborough Visitors Center, 117 Boone St.
Tickets are available in person at the Historic Jonesborough Visitors Center or by calling 753-1010 or 866-401-4223, at the door the night of the performance or by visiting www.JonesboroughTN.com. Season tickets are $50 per person, and single show ticket prices are $20 for adults, $10 for children 12 and under and $10 for ETSU students (with valid ID). A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Southern Appalachian Ronald McDonald House Charities, Inc.
“Our 2013 season kicked off in February with stellar performances by Rodney Dillard and The Dillard Band, Larry Efaw and Bluegrass Mountaineers, and Buncombe Turnpike,” Andrea Ball, founder of Make Welcome Entertainment, said in a news release. “We’re looking forward to the rest of this year’s schedule and are already working on bringing more talented artists to the community next year.”
The Historic Jonesborough Bluegrass Series is an annual concert series that features a variety of bluegrass and acoustic musicians. Junior Sisk and Ramblers Choice are the official ambassadors of the event. Previous performers include JD Crowe and the New South, Brandon Rickman, The Gibson Brothers, Balsam Range, Mark Newton’s Stillhouse Band, The Larry Stephenson Band, Lorraine Jordan and Carolina Road and The Boxcars.
