The University of Tennessee Extension-Washington County will oversee the class, which will cost $60 and take place on successive Mondays and Thursdays, July 14 and 17, 21 and 24 from 6-9 p.m. The cost will include a book on food preservation, a hands-on experience and at least one home-canned product, welcome to go home with each participant. Emphasis will be placed on how to make jams, jellies, water-bath canning, pressure canning and pickling.
Classes will take place at the Farm Bureau Insurance office at 1103 Boones Creek Road in Jonesborough.
