KINGSPORT — In celebration of Halloween, Bays Mountain Park will be transformed from a peaceful, nature preserve into a spooky, ghoul-infested forest with a host of creepy events, including a haunted barge ride, a “Thriller” dancing performance and a “Planetarium of Peril” show.

The “Halloween Haunt” event at Bays Mountain Park will take place from 7 to 11 p.m., Oct. 25 and 26. Admission is $10 per vehicle or $30 per bus. For park association members the charge is $5 a vehicle and $20 a bus. Courtesy passes and pets are not allowed for the event.

Bays Mountain will close at 5 p.m. each day in preparation for the event and then re-open at 6:30 p.m. No one will be admitted after 10 p.m. due to expected heavy turnout. Park officials suggest carpooling to the event and for everyone to bring a flashlight.

The park will offer shuttle service up the mountain from the Eastman Recreation Center.
