Dress-making project renews ties to nation

Colorful pattern dresses are hung on a clothing rack in Mountain View Baptist Church’s hallway. People outside the church would never suspect that they were actually made from pillowcases.
With a mission trip to Haiti scheduled for June 8, Mountain View members decided to throw in a little something extra by making 300 pillowcase dresses and rounding up T-shirts and shorts to give the little boys and girls while visiting.
Mary Fann, Mountain View church member, along with her daughter, Susie Savage, and granddaughter, April Salts, said they picked up the idea from another local church.
