
Mr. and Mrs. Francis Martin, Johnson City, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, in Gatlinburg.
The couple were married on Dec. 6, 1952, in Johnson City by the late Rev. Frank Isenberg.
Mr. Martin is a veteran of the U.S. Army and Army Reserves. He is the former owner of Martin Electric Co. and taught at Tri-Cities Technical Institute for six years. He retired from teaching at the Washington County School System.
Mrs. Martin is the former Allie Sheets. She retired from Johnson City Medical Center in 2004 after 42 years of nursing service.
The Martins are members of Boones Creek Christian Church.
The couple have one child, Pamela Baines and husband Ronnie; one grandchild, Kimberly Hughes and husband Carl; and two great-grandchildren, Logan and Kendra Hughes, all of Jonesborough.
