What is display advertising? Display advertising refers to the various sized square and retangular ads that appear on the pages of the newspaper. There are two types of display advertising, classified and retail. Classified display appears in the classified section of the newspaper with the classified line ads and usually advertises automotive, help wanted and real estate. Retail display advertising appears in the news, sports and life style sections of the newspaper and advertises a wide variety of merchandise and services. The following information will deal with retail display advertising in the main body of the paper.
In what section of the newspaper will my ad appear? All advertising is sold as "Run Of Paper". We try to honor all placement requests but due to the great number of ads and their various sizes we have to place them where they fit best. If ad position is of great concern the advertisers may pay for prime position assuming the requested space is available.
When is the deadline? Generally the deadline is three business days before publication; however add an extra day or two during holiday periods.
Can the newspaper produce an ad for me? Yes, our award winning graphics department can produce an ad that can help bring customers to your business. Sometimes this takes a little extra time so please allow five business days before the ad publishes.
How much does an ad cost? Display advertising is priced by size and the number of times it appears in the newspaper. Display advertising can be purchased in various sizes and an advertising program can be tailored to meet any size budget.
Will my ad appear on the newspaper's website? The ad will not automatically appear on the newspaper's free website but can be placed there for a nominal fee.
How do I pay for my ad? New advertisers may pay by cash, check or credit card at the time of ad placement and then complete a credit application. When the credit application is approved a bill is sent at the end of the month and payment is due by the 20th of the following month.
