Lady Cyclones wrap up perfect league season

Elizabethton placed five players in double figures and punished Sullivan South 84-42 on Tuesday night at Treadway Gym. The Lady Cyclones wrapped up a 12-0 league mark while improving to 21-3 overall.

Clark was like a heavy-handed sheriff in this one. The senior guard finished with a not-in-my-jurisdiction total of 17 points, eight assists, four rebounds, three steals and plenty of handcuff defense on South point guard Evan Headrick.

Senior point guard Tianna Tarter scored 24 points, junior wing Keisha Gregory added 20 and Science Hill finished off its fourth straight Big Seven Conference title with a 70-27 win against the second-place Lady Falcons.

While the Elizabethton City School System had the misfortune of suffering vandalism to nine of its 13 buses on Monday morning, the school system had the good fortune of being surrounded by school systems who were generous and willing to help.
